LEBADEA, or LEBADIA, an ancient town of Bocotia, on the borders of Phocis, situated between Helicon and Chæronia, still called Livadia. In it stood the oracle of Jupiter Trophonius, which whoever went to consult, descended into a subterranean gulf.
