BAUTZEN, or BUDISSEN, a considerable town of Germany, and capital of Upper Lusatia, subject to the king of Saxony, with a strong citadel. Near this place a bloody battle was fought between the French and the allies in June 1813, in which the latter were defeated. E. Long. 14. 42. N. Lat. 51. 10.
