BISCHOFF ZELL, a town of Switzerland, in the canton of Thurgau. It is governed by a council, partly Catholic and partly Lutheran; and both denominations hold divine service in the parish church. It was formerly subject to the bishop of Constance. It is seated on the Thur, at the place where the Sitter falls into this river, almost half way between Constance and St. Gall. E. Long. 9. 23. N.
