AUGUSTOBONA, a city of the Tricassers in ancient Gaul, from whom it was afterwards called Tricasses, and Trecaste; and still farther corrupted to Thracæ, or Treci; whence the modern name Troyes, in Champagne, on the Seine. See TROYES.
