BARBARUS, Daniel, of the same family with the preceding, was patriarch of Aquileia, and famous for his learning. He was ambassador from Venice to England;
land; and was one of the fathers of the council of Trent, where he acted with great zeal for the interest of the pope. He wrote, 1. A commentary on Vitruvius. 2. Catena Græcorum Patrum in quinquaginta Psalmos Latine Versa. 3. La Pratica della Perspectiva. He died in 1569, at 41 years of age.
