ACHERON, in Ancient Geography, a river of The-
sprotia, in Epirus; which, after forming the lake Ache-
rusia, at no great distance from the promontory of Chi-
merrum, falls into the sea to the west of the Sinus An-
bracius, in a course from north to south.
