NIEMEN, a large river of Poland, which rises in Lithuania, where it passes by Bielica, Grodno, and Konno: it afterwards runs through part of Samogitia and Ducal Prussia, where it falls into the lake called the Curisch-kaff, by several mouths, of which the most northern is called the Rusi, being the name of a town it passes by.
