MIGDOL, or MAGDOL, in Ancient Geography, a place in the Lower Egypt, on this side Pihahiroth, or between it and the Red sea, towards its extremity. The term denotes a tower or fortress. It is probably the Magdolam of Herodotus, seeing the Septuagint render it by the same name.
