CERVIX, in Anatomy, properly denotes the hind part of the neck; as contradictistinguished from the fore part, which is called jugulum, or the throat.
CERVIX of the Scapula, denotes the head of the shoulder blade, or that upper process whose finus receives the head of the humerus.
CERVIX of the Uterus, the neck of the uterus, or that oblong canal or passage between the internal and external orifices, which receives and encloses the penis like a sheath, whence it is also called VAGINA.
