BUSIRITICUS FLUVIUS, in Ancient Geography, that branch of the Nile which empties itself at the mouth called Ollium Pathmeticum, or Phatniticum, (Ptolemy); also a part, according to an ancient map at the Ollium Mindefium; this river, or branch, dividing itself at Diospolis into two branches; called Busiriticus, from the city of Busiris, which stood on its left, or west branch.
