CANISIUS, HENRY, a native of Nimeguen, and one of the most learned men of his time, was professor of canon law at Ingolstadt; and wrote a great number of books; the principal of which are, 1. Summa Juris Canonici. 2. Antiqua Lectiones, a very valuable work. He died in 1609.
