EMPORIUM, in Ancient Geography, two cities near Emporium Placentia; one well fortified, and guarded by a strong garrison, at which Hannibal met a repulse: the other, Hannibal took and plundered. Now thought to be Pont-Nura, in the duchy of Placentia.
