HYGROSCOPE. The same with HYGROMETER. HYLA, in Ancient Geography, a river of Myſia Minor, famous for Hylas the favourite boy of Hercules, who was carried down the stream and drowned. It is said to run by Proſia; whence it seems to be the same with the Rhynadacus, which runs north-west into the Propontis.
