AUDITORS of the Prest and Imprest, officers of the exchequer, who take and make up the accounts of Ireland, Berwick, the mint, and of any money impressed to any man for the king's service. They received poundage on all accounts passed by them, which amounted to a prodigious sum, especially in time of war. But the office is now abolished, and 70000. a-year given to the incumbents.
