ASTORGA, a very ancient city of Spain, in the
kingdom of Leon, with a bishop's see, is seated on the
river Tuerta, and well fortified both by art and nature.
It stands in a most agreeable plain, about 150 miles
north-west of Madrid. There are excellent trout in
