BARE-FOOT CARMELITES and AUGUSTINES, are religious of the order of St. Carmel and St. Augustin, who live under a strict observance, and go without shoes, like the capuchins. There are also bare-foot fathers of mercy. Formerly there were bare-foot dominicans, and even bare-foot nuns of the order of St. Augustin.
