BLAREGNIES, a town of the Austrian Netherlands, in the province of Hainaut, seated in E. Long. 3. 35. N. Lat. 50. 30. Near this place the English and their allies under the duke of Marlborough obtained a very bloody victory over the French in 1709. This is most commonly called the battle of Malplaquet.
