BESOZZI, or BEZUTUS, AMBERGIO, a painter of considerable eminence, was born at Milan in 1648. He worked some time under Gioseffo Danedi, called Montalti; he afterwards went to Rome, where he studied from the antiques and the pictures of the greatest masters; and at last perfected himself in the school of Ciro Ferri. His great excellency consisted in painting architecture, friezes, imitations of bas-relieves, and other decorations. He died at Milan in 1706, aged 58 years.
