APODOSIS, in Rhetoric, makes the third part of a complete exordium, being properly the application, or restriction of the propositum. The apodosis is the same with what is otherwise called axiofis; and stands opposed to propositum: e. g. propositum, all branches of history are necessary for a student; catechese, so that, without these, he can never make any considerable figure;
