ARDASSINES, in Commerce, called in France ablaques; a very fine sort of Persian silks, little inferior in fineness to the fourbasils, or rather cherbassils, and yet it is little used in the silk manufactures of Lyons and Tours, because that kind of silk will not bear hot water in the winding.
