ARROBAS, or ARONAS, a weight used in Spain, Portugal, and the foreign dominions of both. The arrobas of Portugal is also called arota, and contains thirty-two Lisbon pounds; that of Spain contains twenty-five Spanish pounds. In Peru it is called arone.
