DARDANIA, in Ancient Geography, a district of Mæsia Superior to the south. Now the south part of Servia, towards the confines of Macedonia and Illyricum.—Dardani was the name of the people, who seem to have been descendants of the Dardani of Troas. Also a small district of Troas, along the Hellefont, (Mela, Virgil); and the ancient name of Samothracia, (Pliny), from Dardanus, who removed thither.
