HENNEBERG, a county of Germany, in the circle of Franconia. It is bounded on the north by Thuringia, on the west by Hesse, on the south by the bishoprick of Wertheim, and on the east by that of Bamberg. It abounds in mountains and woods; and
it is populous, and pretty fertile. Mainingen is the Henneberg capital town.
