HORROX, JEREMIAH, an eminent English astronomer in the 17th century, was born at Texteth near Liverpool in Lancashire in 1619. He died, to the great loss of that science and of the world, in the 23d year of his age, after he had just finished his Venus in Sole-tis; which, with some other works, were published by Dr Wallis, in quarto.
