KAROULY, a town and district of Hindustan, in the province of Agra, situated on the Putchporee River, which, during the rainy season, swells to a torrent; and on the other side is surrounded by deep and extensive ravines. The town is surrounded by a good stone wall with bastions, and the fort is in the centre. The rajah is of the military tribe of the Rajpoots, who have been gradually stripped of their best possessions by the Afghans, Moguls, and Mahrattas. It is seventy miles south-west from the city of Agra. Long. 77. E. Lat. 26. 35. N.
