KESMARK, a city of the Austrian kingdom of Hungary, in the province of the Hither Theiss. It stands on the river Poprad, at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. It contains 4650 inhabitants, of whom the majority adhere to the Lutheran church. It is adorned by an elegant palace, has one protestant and two catholic churches, and a Lutheran lyceum, with four professors.
