ICOSANDRIA (from ἱκοσι, twenty, and ἄνδρ, a man or husband), the name of the twelfth class in Linnaeus's sexual method, consisting of plants with hermaphrodite flowers, which are furnished with twenty or more stamens, that are inserted into the inner side of the calyx or petals. See BOTANY.
