RUMBO, a Malay kingdom, in the peninsula, about sixty miles from the city of Malacca. The sultan and all the principal officers of this state hold their authority immediately from Menangcabow in Sumatra, and have commissions for their respective offices. They have a peculiar dialect, called by the inhabitants of Malacca the language of Menangcabow.
