BOBILEE, a town of Hindostan, in the northern circles. The Rangaroo of Bobilee was in 1757 one of the polygars of the first rank in this country; but being engaged in deadly enmity with a neighbouring polygar, who prevailed on the French commander M. Bussy to espouse his cause, he was attacked in his fort, the last retreat of every polygar when he is hard pressed; and seeing no hope of successful resistance, he put to death his whole family, and, along with his remaining troops, perished in defence of the fort.
