MACROBI, a people of Ethiopia, celebrated for their justice, and the innocence of their manners; also a people in the island of Meroe. The Hyperboreans were likewise called Macrobi. They generally lived to their hundred and twentieth year, and from their longevity they obtained their name (μακρος βιος, long life).
