LANDEN, a town of the Netherlands, in the province of Liège and arrondissement of Huy, on the river Beake. It is remarkable for the battle fought near it, usually called the battle of Neerwinden, in 1693, in which the allies were defeated by Marshal Luxembourg. Long. 4. 55. E. Lat. 50. 45. N.
