LOZENGES, amongst jewellers, are common to brilliant and rose diamonds. In brilliants, they are formed by the meeting of the skill and star facets on the bezil; in the latter, by the meeting of the facets in the horizontal ribs of the crown.

LOZENGE is also a form of medicine, made into small pieces, to be held or chewed in the mouth till they are melted there, and are the same with what are otherwise called trochisci, troches.
