LUDOLPH, JOHANN, a learned writer of the seventeenth century, was born at Erfurt, in Thuringia. He travelled much, was master of twenty-six languages, visited libraries searched everywhere after natural curiosities and antiquities, and conversed with learned men of all nations. He published a History of Ethiopia, and other curious books.
