LURGAN, a town in the county of Armagh and province of Ulster, in Ireland, sixty-six miles from Dublin. It is a flourishing town, agreeably situated in the midst of a much improved country; and the inhabitants are extensively engaged in the linen manufacture. It stands on a gentle eminence, about two miles from Lough Neagh, of which it commands a most beautiful and extensive prospect. Long. 6. 31. W. Lat. 54. 35. N.
