EAUZE, an ancient city of the department of Gers, in France, said to have been taken by the Saracens in 722. It is situated on the river Selise, was formerly called Elusa, and is the chief place in Aquitain. It now contains 3220 inhabitants. Long. 0. 3. W. Lat. 43. 56. N.
