EGER, a circle of the Austrian kingdom of Bohemia, extending over 110 square miles, and containing 22,500 inhabitants. The chief place is the city of the same name. It contains 776 houses, and 8111 inhabitants, who are employed in various manufactures. It is celebrated as the place where Wallenstein was put to death, and also for its mineral water, which is extensively dispensed in Germany. Long. 12. 18. E. Lat. 50. 5. N.
