MARCHERS, or LORDS-MARCHERS, were those noblemen who lived on the marches of Wales or Scotland, and who, in times past, according to Camden, had their laws and jus vitæ necisque, like petty kings. In old records the lords marchers of Wales were styled Marchiones de Marchia Walliae.
