CANISIUS, HENRY, a native of Nimeguen, and one of the most learned men of his time, was professor of canon law at Ingolstadt, and wrote a number of books, the principal of which are, 1. Summa Juris Canonici; 2. Antiquae Lectiones, a very valuable work. He died in 1609.
