CASTELLON DE LA PLANA, a city in the Spanish province of Valencia, about a mile from the sea-coast. It is well built, with broad and handsome streets, and contains six monasteries, two hospitals, and five poor-houses, with a population of 10,733 persons. The cultivation of hemp is much attended to, and some of the inhabitants are employed in weaving linen. Lat. 39. 52. N.
