CASTRO Nuovo, a city of Sicily, in the intendancy of Girgenti. It is a healthy spot, containing 4700 inhabitants, who cultivate cotton and grow excellent wine. Near to the city are some extensive marble quarries, which furnished that stone for the royal palace of Caserta.
