GALACTOPHAGI, and GALACTOPOTÆ, in Antiquity, persons who lived wholly on milk, without corn or the use of any other food. The words are compounded of γάλα, γάλακτος, milk; φαγιν, to eat; and πότης, from πίνω, I drink.
