FREDERICKSTAD, a strongly fortified city of Norway, in the province of Aggerhuus and bailiwick of Mos. It stands at the mouth of the river Glommen. It contains 420 houses, with 2352 inhabitants, who carry on an extensive trade in deals and in other timber, and are extensively employed in the fisheries.
