GHORAGHAUT, a district of Bengal, containing about a hundred and fifty square miles, but formerly much more
extensive, as it not only embraced great part of the district of Dinagepore, but also extended across the Brahmaputra river, and included the small district of Carrybary; it is pleasantly situated on the western bank of the Currutya river, and formerly carried on a considerable trade with Bootan for Tangan horses, musk, &c.
