GRANADA, a town of Mexico, in America, in the intendancy of Nicaragua, and in the republic of Guatemala, seated on the Lake Nicaragua. It contains a handsome church and four convents, one of which, belonging to the Franciscans, is amongst the most ancient of these establishments in the kingdom. There is here some commerce; but the place would appear to have declined. Long. 86. 21. W. Lat. 11. 30. N.
