GRANARD, a borough, market, fair, and post town, in the county of Longford, and province of Leinster, situated fifty-two miles from Dublin, and about sixteen north-east of Longford. Here is a remarkable hill or mount, called the Mot of Granard, supposed to be artificial, and the site of a Danish castle or fort, which commands from its summit a most extensive prospect.
