GRAVINA, a city of the province of Bari, in the kingdom of Naples. It is a rocky height, watered at its foot by the rivers Casale and Gravina. It contains 8693 inhabitants, who are employed in cultivating wheat and anise-seed, and in preparing salt-petre.
