PARSONAUTH, a town of Hindustan, in the province of Bahar, situated amongst the hills, between Bahar and Bengal. It is held in great estimation by the Jains, as a remarkably holy place. One of the principal deities is named Parwanath, the real founder of the sect, who died at the age of a hundred years.
