PHUGWANA, a large walled town of Hindustan, in the province of Lahore, belonging to the Sikhs. It is situated between the Beyah and the Sutelege Rivers, south-east from Jallinder, in a fertile and well-cultivated plain, which produces wheat and other grains, and also the sugar-cane.
