PROSZNITZ, a city of the Austrian province of Moravia, in the circle of Olmutz. It is the capital of the principality of Lichtenstein, being situated on the river Ruzma, in a fertile district, and contains 540 houses, with 8500 inhabitants, who are occupied in extensive distilleries, and in making woollen goods of a fine quality, besides some linens.
