PUUDUCOTTA, a town of Hindustan, in the Southern Carnatic, and district of Tanjore. It was formerly the capital of Tondiman, the hereditary polygar or landholder of a considerable district. It is thirty-two miles south-south-west from Tanjore. Long. 78. 50. E. Lat. 16. 20. N.
